Hi! I’m Jonathan Cheung.
When people ask who my first love was, my answer is always the same: a soccer ball. I started playing at six and haven’t stopped since. My journey began with Kitchee, one of Hong Kong’s top-division teams, and at 14 I joined the Hong Kong National Team, later captaining major tournaments like the AFC Asian Cup (2013, 2017) and representing the U21 squad as its youngest player.
To keep improving, I moved to England to train with Reading Football Academy and attend Bradfield College under Coach Luke Webb. In 2017 and 2018, we won the HUDL Independent Schools League Cup and captured Bradfield’s first-ever ISFA title at MK Dons Stadium.
My passion then led me to California, where I played four years for the University of Redlands. There, we won the SCIAC championship—the NCAA Division III Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference title—in 2022.
